Abstract: Addressing language barriers in vocational training programs is crucial for ensuring equitable access and effective learning outcomes in diverse educational settings. This study explores strategies to mitigate language barriers by assessing current challenges and proposing innovative solutions. Objectives include identifying common language barriers faced by students and instructors, evaluating the effectiveness of language support initiatives, and exploring perceptions of language diversity as a resource in vocational education. A survey research design is selected to gather insights from a targeted sample of 250 participants, including vocational instructors and students, using purposive sampling to ensure representation across different linguistic backgrounds. Case studies will focus on vocational training centers in Kano State, chosen for their multicultural environment and strategic location in Northern Nigeria. Findings reveal that language barriers significantly impact learning experiences and student retention rates in vocational programs. Recommendations emphasize the integration of language support services, professional development for instructors in multilingual education, and policies promoting linguistic inclusivity in curriculum design.
